Encasing tatted lace in UV Resin

So recently I have been trying to put tatting into resin. One of the biggest challenges has been getting rid of bubbles. I am slowly getting there.

Masks.

Hi Fellow Craftaholics.

With the current climate of virus pandemic I have been making some masks. I am a bit of a fan of pretty masks. I made nose wires for mine as I am a glasses wearer.
Here are a few of my efforts.
The pattern I used can be found at this link https://youtu.be/nspIdvqrlnw

2nd Tatted Hammer

I have designed a second tatted lace hammer to go with the first. I am liking making hammers atm. πŸ˜‚

Gotta love what you can do with lace if you just put your mind to it. 😍

Norse Mythology and Tatting.

I recently picked up Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman. And this book inspired me to design and make a Tatted Lace Hammer. I am very happy with how it turned out.

I am looking forward to reading this book and using this Hammer as a bookmark. 😍

It is currently in testing. I am looking forward to releasing this pattern into the wild. πŸ˜‚ .

Favourite Book with Tatting Reference.

I have been reading books by Tamora Pierce since I was 12. One of her books referenced tatting. I am currently rereading said book. It is First Test. It is a children’s/young adult novel that is based in a fictional world. It is about a girls journey towards becoming a knight.

I just had to put my tatted lace with the reference about it. Lol. 🀣

Mary Konier’s Patchwork as a magic square.

I have finished making Mary Konier’s Patchwork as a magic square. This is a beautiful pattern and I love how it turned out.

Pic 1: 3/4 of the way done. 😍

Pics 2-4. The finished square.

This was (for me) an easy project but you do need to be aware of which shuttle needs to be used at certain points. I found this pattern as a chart (pictogram) on Pinterest. https://pin.it/obxrjtxvie35ha

Tatting a lot…

I am doing a lot of tatting at the moment. And it helped that I got a new set of shuttles.

The shuttles are commemorative of a Tatting event this year. It is for Let’s tat a Brussels monument in pink for women’s rights 2018.

I tatted two 3cm x 3cm squares for this event. Unfortunately I was quite busy and wasn’t able to tat more.

Pic 1 Tatted Squares with my new shuttles.

I am liking tatted lace squares at the moment. I am half way through a square right now. It is Mary Konier’s Patchwork as a magic square. I am loving this pattern so much.

Pic 2 1/4 of the way to a square.

Pic 3 1/2 way to a square.

I am loving lace so much right now and I love the fact that I can make it.

TIAS 2018 Day 1-6.

I am running a bit behind with Jane Eborall’s TIAS for 2018. To join along go to Jane Eborall Blog: TIAS

I have now caught up. So TIAS is an acronym for Tat It And See. Jane Eborall posts one of these every year. Basically it is a mystery tat a long that you get a small bit of the pattern to complete each day, so it is easier to complete.

Pic 2: Day 6 complete

My guess for what I am tatting is an Alpaca or llama. I am looking forward to seeing more of the pattern.
